On April 25, 2024, Governor Wes Moore enacted three new bills: The Housing Expansion and Affordability Act, The Housing and Community Development Financing Act, and The Renters’ Rights and Stabilization Act. These bills aim to improve housing instability in Maryland by incentivizing the construction of new affordable housing, protecting renters by increasing the cost of filing for eviction, and lowering security deposits required for rentals.
